Zoo and Wildlife Park Photography Competition

Capture animal life through the lens of a camera and enter our zoo and wildlife photography competition for a chance to win your photograph printed on canvas. Some UK Zoos and Wildlife Parks have finally been allowed to open as of Monday, 15th June 2020 amid the Covid19 crisis. They’ve been busy making their areas safe for us to return and enjoy the animals and tranquility of their gardens. Many people find our Wildlife Parks and Zoos a restful and relaxing space to visit, which can only be a positive thing for mental health and wellbeing. Did you know? Our Zoos support and run amazing conservation projects locally and around the world helping animals and people? They help make our planet an amazing place!

How To Enter:

  • Follow Cartridge People’s InstagramFacebook or Twitter page.
  • Post your favourite zoo or wildlife park photograph on social media.
  • Use the hashtag #CPZooLife and tag @CartridgePeople and the Zoo or Wildlife Park where you took your photograph on your post.
  • Participants can enter as many times as they want – there’s no limit.

Top Photography Tips

  • Plan ahead to make sure you see your favourite animal.
  • Animal courtesy – Please take note of signs where the use of flash is not allowed, it will be for a good reason.
  • Try using a tripod.
  • Focus on the eyes.
  • Try a macro, close-up shot.
  • Take your time, observe what the animal is doing.
  • Avoid distracting elements like people or fences.
  • Think beyond the animals, does the zoo have a garden or sculptures.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. This competition is being run as part of a Cartridge People free prize photo contest. No purchase necessary.
  2. There is one prize available, which is your winning photo printed onto either an A2 (15″x20″) portrait or A2 (15″x20″) Landscape, or 20″x20″ square canvas print, depending on the orientation of your entered image. The prize is subject to availability and we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize should the current pandemic prevent us from supplying the prize.
  3. The winning photograph will be published on Cartridge People’s Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and this competition landing page on Monday, 3rd August 2020. It may also be used in a Cartridge People customer newsletter. By entering the Zoo and Wildlife Park Photography Competition, you agree for your image to be used in this way, free of charge, in accordance with these terms.
  4. You may enter this competition by tagging @CartridgePeople. These pictures will be passed to the Cartridge People judging panel before deciding a winner.
  5. The winner of the competition will be selected by Cartridge People from all the eligible qualifying entrants. The winner is responsible for ensuring they are able to accept the prizes as set out in accordance with these terms within 10 working days of email notification. In the event that the prize isn’t claimed after 10 working days, Cartridge People reserves the right to select another winner from the remaining eligible entries. The decision of the Cartridge People judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into with any individual who seeks to challenge the decision made.
  6. The winner will be notified via their Instagram, Twitter or Facebook account and will be asked to provide a postal address to send the prize to.
  7. The image submitted by an entrant must be the work of the individual submitting their entry and must not have been published elsewhere.
  8. When submitting an entry, an entrant must comply with all applicable laws and regulations and must not post, submit or transmit any information, image, text or other material of any kind whatsoever;
    a. that is not original material for which the entrant owns copyright. Where an individual whose image is featured in the Competition entry is aged less than 18 years, the entrant confirms that the parent or guardian of that individual has given the relevant consent;
    b. that violates or infringes upon the rights of any other person, including another person’s intellectual property or privacy rights;
    c. that is unlawful, offensive, threatening, abusive, defamatory, derogatory, obscene, vulgar, profane or indecent or that is sexual or pornographic in nature;
    d. that vilifies, insults or humiliates any person on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation or any physical or mental disability;
    e. that identifies any person other than the entrant, unless the entrant has obtained the written consent of that person to submit the material for the purposes of the competition;
    f. that advertises or promotes any goods or services, websites, competitions or schemes or otherwise for commercial purposes;
    g. that is knowingly incorrect, misleading or deceptive.
  9. This competition is not open to employees of Cartridge People Ltd.
  10. This offer is being run by Cartridge People Ltd, Unit 13 Orion Park, University Way, Crewe, CW1 6NG.
  11. Cartridge People Ltd reserves the right to amend these rules at any time.
  12. The competition will run from 15/06/2020 to 02/08/2020 inclusive. Once the competition is closed this page will be updated. 
  13. The winner will be contacted via Instagram, Twitter or Facebook on Monday, 3rd August 2020.
  14. Cartridge People Ltd shall not be responsible for any damage, loss or disappointment suffered by any individual taking part or not being able to take part in the competition.
  15. Cartridge People Ltd will not be held liable for any failure to fulfil the prize where the failure is caused by something outside our reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, pandemic, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to majeure.
  16. In all matters, the Directors of Cartridge People Ltd decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  17. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/ her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions and entry is deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  18. This competition is open to UK & Channel Island residents only.
  19. Entrants must be aged 18 or over to enter.
