1. Account Registration & Customer Responsibilities
- Account Details: When you register an account on our site, you must provide a valid email address and choose a secure password. You are responsible for all activities under your account login. Please keep your password confidential and notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use. If you use a shared computer, we recommend you log out and clear cookies after using our site to protect your account.
- Accurate Information: You agree to provide truthful and up-to-date information. If your details change (e.g. billing or delivery address), you must update your account promptly. We are not liable for issues arising from outdated or incorrect information provided by you.
- Eligibility: Our website and services are intended for users 18 years or older. By registering or placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover an account or order from someone under 18, we will take steps to close the account and delete the data.
- Account Security and Use: You must use our site for lawful purposes and refrain from any misuse (such as introducing viruses or attempting unauthorised access). We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if we suspect a breach of these terms or fraudulent activity. You are responsible for ensuring that anyone using your account abides by these terms.
2. Contract Formation & Order Acceptance
- Offer and Acceptance: When you place an order on our website, you are making an offer to buy the goods in your basket. Order submission alone does not signify acceptance of your order by us. We will confirm receipt of your order by an acknowledgment email, but this is for information only and not our acceptance of your offer. A binding contract is formed only when we email you a Dispatch (Shipment) Confirmation stating that your goods have been dispatched. At that point, your payment is accepted and a contract based on these terms comes into existence.
- Payment Condition: We must receive payment in full for the order before we accept and dispatch your goods. The only exception is if you are a business customer with an approved credit account (see Section 4 on Business Accounts). If, for any reason, payment is not received or is revoked, we reserve the right not to accept your order or to cancel the contract.
- Pricing Errors: While we strive to ensure all product details and prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an obvious error or inaccuracy in the price or description of goods before we have accepted your order, we reserve the right to withdraw or cancel that order. We will contact you as soon as possible to inform you of the error. You will have the option to reconfirm your order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as cancelled. Prices on our site are shown in GBP and, unless stated otherwise, include VAT (see Section 3) for consumer purchases.
- Stock Availability: Our website updates stock availability multiple times a day, but an item’s availability is not guaranteed until your order is accepted. If we cannot fulfil your order due to lack of stock (identified before contract formation), we will let you know by email and will refund/not process payment for that item. If a stock issue is identified after your order is accepted, we will contact you promptly to discuss alternatives or a refund.
- No Resale Policy: We sell products to end-users only. We do not supply products to wholesalers, resellers, or any parties purchasing for resale or commercial print services. We reserve the right to cancel any order we suspect is intended for resale or not for personal/business end use. By placing an order, you represent that you are not purchasing our products for resale.
- Order Cancellation by Us: We may refuse or cancel an order (even after acceptance) if: (i) we suspect fraud or unauthorised activity, (ii) you have breached these terms, or (iii) there is an error or unforeseen issue that prevents us from fulfilling the order (such as a pricing error or stock issue). If we cancel an order after you have been charged, we will provide a full refund. This is in addition to any other legal rights we may have.
- Order Number: Each order accepted will have a unique order number. It will help to reference this number in any correspondence about the order.
3. Pricing, Payment & VAT
- Pricing: All prices on our website are shown in Pound Sterling (GBP). By default, our site displays pricing inclusive of UK Value Added Tax (VAT) for consumer shoppers, but you may toggle to view prices excluding VAT if you are a business customer. Applicable VAT is charged at checkout on all taxable items. If the VAT rate changes between your order date and the date of supply, the total price may be adjusted accordingly (unless you have already paid in full before the change takes effect).
- VAT and Tax: Our VAT number is GB 250 8721 12. We do not ship or sell internationally – orders for delivery outside the UK are not accepted. You are responsible for any other taxes or duties (if any) that may apply beyond our control, though for UK consumer sales this is usually not applicable beyond VAT.
- Payment Methods: We offer a variety of secure payment options, including major credit/debit cards, PayPal and Google Pay (and BACS for approved business accounts). Payment is taken at the point of order placement or shortly thereafter, except for business accounts on invoice (see Section 4). All online payments are processed via encrypted secure channels for your protection. We do not accept payment by cheque or cash.
- Payment Issues: If your payment fails or is declined, no contract will form. You should ensure that the payment details you provide are valid and that you have sufficient funds or credit. We are not responsible for any fees your card issuer or bank may charge related to payment processing.
- Price Matching and Promotions: From time to time we may offer promotional pricing or voucher codes. Only one voucher/code can be used per transaction, and they cannot be applied to products already on special/exclusive price or used past their expiry date. Please see any specific offer terms for details. Our Price Promise (if advertised on our site) is a separate policy and not a guarantee within these Terms, unless explicitly stated.
4. Business Accounts (Credit Terms)
The following additional terms apply only if you have a Business Account with an approved credit facility (also referred to as a Net Monthly credit account). These terms apply in addition to all other terms herein when you place orders using your business credit account:
- Eligibility & Credit Checks: Business credit accounts are available to UK businesses, subject to approval. By applying for and using a business account, you confirm that you are a UK business customer (not a consumer) and you consent to our performing credit checks on your organisation with credit reference agencies. We may refuse or revoke a credit account at our discretion.
- Payment Terms: If you purchase on credit, you will receive an invoice by email when we dispatch your goods. Invoices must be paid in full by the end of the month following the invoice date (“Net Monthly” terms). Payment must be made via BACS (bank transfer) to the account details provided on the invoice. Please quote your Customer Reference or invoice number with your BACS payment to ensure it is properly allocated. We do not accept card payments or cheques for settling credit invoices.
- Credit Limit & Usage: Your credit account may have a credit limit which we will set and communicate to you. You agree not to exceed this limit. Business Accounts are generally expected to maintain a regular purchasing volume to keep the facility active. For certain customers like schools or local authorities, this minimum may not apply. We reserve the right to review and adjust your credit limit or require a minimum spend as a condition of continuing the facility.
- Reporting Issues: Any discrepancies with your delivery (such as shortages or incorrect items) must be reported to us within 5 working days of delivery. If you do not inform us of any issues within this timeframe, the goods will be deemed received in full and the invoice will remain due in full.
- Late Payment: If you fail to pay an invoice by the due date, we may charge interest on the overdue amount at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Interest will accrue daily from the day after the due date until payment is received in full. You will also be responsible for any reasonable costs of recovery of the debt. In addition, we reserve the right to suspend or withdraw your credit facility with immediate effect if a payment is overdue. We may also withhold dispatch of any new orders or cancel pending orders if your account is in arrears.
- Withdrawal or Cancellation of Credit Facility: You may request to close your business credit account at any time by notifying our Customer Service in writing. However, any outstanding balance must be cleared before the account can be closed. We reserve the right to withdraw or suspend the credit facility on your account at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. In particular, if your account fails to meet any required minimum spend threshold over a period, or if you repeatedly pay late, we may cancel the credit terms. If your credit facility is withdrawn, your account can still be used to make purchases with immediate payment (e.g. credit card) but not on invoice.
- Business Pricing: Please note that pricing for business account orders may sometimes differ from the public website prices for certain products. Our website prices are tailored for one-off consumer purchases; large or regular bulk orders by business customers may incur adjusted pricing to reflect additional handling or supplier costs. We will always inform you of any price difference before you place or confirm an order. You are not obliged to proceed if you do not accept any adjusted pricing.
- No Resale Assurance: By opening a Business Account with us, you also agree not to resell products purchased from us, as per our no-resale policy (Section 2.e). Business account orders are for your company’s internal use only (e.g. for your office’s consumption) and not for wholesale distribution.
- Purchase Orders: We may accept official purchase orders from certain qualifying organisations (such as schools, colleges, universities, NHS trusts or government bodies) by prior arrangement. If we have agreed to accept your organisation’s purchase orders, you must still adhere to these payment terms. Please email official purchase orders to business@cartridgepeople.com if applicable.
5. Delivery & Ownership of Goods
- Delivery Services: We deliver throughout the UK (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland). Delivery options and timeframes are displayed at checkout and detailed on our Delivery Information page. We offer standard and expedited delivery methods; eligibility and costs may vary based on your order and location. While most orders arrive within the estimated times, these times are estimates and not guaranteed. We do not dispatch or deliver on UK bank holidays. If you have not received your order within five working days, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance.
- Dispatch & Order Fulfilment: Orders are normally dispatched as soon as possible once accepted. If you have arranged in advance to collect the goods in person (by prior agreement only), we will let you know when they are ready for collection. Otherwise, we will send the goods by our chosen courier or postal service to the delivery address you provided. We may dispatch items from different warehouses to fulfil your order quickly, so items in the same order might arrive separately. Once dispatched, we will email you a dispatch confirmation (which, as noted, constitutes acceptance of your order). Please ensure someone is available to receive the delivery at the address provided, if required by the shipping method.
- Risk of Loss: Risk passes to you once the items are dispatched to your address (or handed to you upon collection). This means that from dispatch onward, you will bear any loss or damage to the goods. However, we remain responsible for any loss or damage that is caused by our courier’s negligence or mishandling before the goods are delivered to you. In the event of a lost parcel or non-delivery, our liability is limited to replacing the goods or refunding the purchase price after investigating with the carrier. We require any claims for non-delivery or missing items to be submitted within 30 days from the date of dispatch; beyond this period, we may not be able to assist with a loss claim. (This does not affect your statutory rights.)
- Ownership (Title): We retain ownership (title) to all goods until full payment has been received and cleared. For consumers and non-credit orders, this means title passes to you at the point of dispatch (as payment is made at order). For business customers using a credit account, title to the goods remains with Cartridge People until the invoice is paid in full. In either case, if an order is cancelled or refunded, ownership of the relevant goods reverts back to us. You agree to handle and store any goods whose title remains with us with due care, and not to dispose of them (by sale or otherwise) until ownership has passed to you.
- Delivery Issues: If no one is available to receive the delivery, our courier may leave a card or contact instruction for re-delivery or pickup. It is your responsibility to follow up and arrange re-delivery or collection in a timely manner. We are not liable for parcels that cannot be delivered due to incorrect address information provided by you or failure to respond to delivery notices. If an order is returned to us by the courier as undeliverable due to your fault (wrong address or not collecting in time), we may charge for re-delivery.
- Inspection on Delivery: Please check your goods promptly upon delivery. For business account orders, any shortage or damage should be reported within 5 working days (see Section 4). For consumer orders, we advise reporting any transit damage or missing items as soon as possible so we can resolve it. In case of damage, please retain the product and all packaging and paperwork, and contact us for further instructions. We will arrange for return or replacement of damaged/faulty items as described in Section 7.
6. Returns, Cancellations & Refunds
We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. This section explains your rights and our procedures for returns, cancellations, and refunds.
- 14-Day Right to Cancel (Consumers): If you are a UK consumer (buying as an individual for personal use), you have the right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, for any reason. If the goods are delivered in multiple lots, the 14 days runs from the day you receive the final instalment. To exercise this cancellation right, you must inform us of your decision to cancel within the 14-day period, and then return the goods to us. We will refund the price of the goods and standard delivery costs within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or of you providing evidence of having returned them). Note: This legal right to cancel does not apply to business customers or to certain items (see (e) below for exceptions).
- Extended 30-Day Return Policy (All Customers): Regardless of your statutory rights, we offer a 30-day returns policy to all UK customers (consumers and businesses) for unwanted, unused items. If for any reason you change your mind about a product, you may return it to us within 30 days of purchase for either a full refund or a credit to your Cartridge People account. This policy applies provided the item is in its original unused condition with all packaging intact, as detailed below (see (d). (If you are a business customer, this 30-day return option is offered at our discretion as a goodwill policy, since the 14-day legal cancellation right does not apply to business-to-business sales.)
- Cartridge People Own Brand Guarantee: We take pride in our Own Brand products. If you purchase a Cartridge People Own Brand printer consumable (e.g. compatible ink or toner cartridge), we will even allow you to return it for up to 12 months from the purchase date for a credit on your account, if you are not satisfied or no longer need it. This extended return window applies only to Cartridge People Own Brand products. The product must be in a resalable condition as per the criteria below. Refunds are not offered beyond 30 days, but a store credit will be issued for returns of Own Brand items between 30 days and 12 months after purchase.
- Return Conditions: In all cases of returns for unwanted items (change of mind), the following conditions must be met for a full refund/credit:
- The items must be unused and returned in their original, undamaged packaging with all accessories and parts included. This means you have not used the item beyond examining it (the way you might in a shop) and all factory seals, vacuum packaging or dust covers are still intact.
- The goods should be in a re-saleable condition, not scratched, chipped, or damaged in any way.
- You must contact our Customer Service team before returning any product. We will provide return instructions and a returns authorisation. Do not send items back unannounced, as they may not be processed correctly.
- You are responsible for the cost of returning unwanted items to us. We can guide you on the preferred shipping method, but generally you should use a tracked service and retain proof of postage. (If the return is due to our error or a faulty product, see Section 7 – we will provide a free returns label in those cases.)
- If returned items arrive used, incomplete, damaged (in a way that is not our fault), or otherwise not in the condition required above, we reserve the right to deduct a charge from your refund to cover the reduction in value, up to 100% of the price for heavily used or unsellable items. We will notify you if any deduction is made. In some cases, we may return such non-qualifying items back to you instead of issuing a refund.
- The items must be unused and returned in their original, undamaged packaging with all accessories and parts included. This means you have not used the item beyond examining it (the way you might in a shop) and all factory seals, vacuum packaging or dust covers are still intact.
- Exceptions: Certain products are excluded from the 14-day cancellation right and/or our 30-day returns policy. These include goods that are made to your specifications or clearly personalised, goods which by reason of their nature cannot be returned or are likely to deteriorate or expire rapidly, and sealed items not suitable for return due to health or hygiene reasons if they have been unsealed after delivery. For example, if we sell any food or drink items or cleaning/hygiene products, once their packaging is opened, they cannot be returned unless faulty. Printer ink or toner cartridges that have had their packaging opened and the seal or pull-tab removed may not be returnable as unwanted items if ink/toner has been used, unless the product is faulty. These exceptions do not affect your rights if goods are faulty.
- Return Process & Refunds: To initiate a return, please contact us (via our contact form or customer service email/phone) with your order details. We will advise you on how to send the item back. Do not send items back without authorisation, as this can delay processing. Once we receive the returned item, we will inspect it and process your refund or credit as soon as possible. Refunds are typically processed within a few days of inspection approval, and no later than 14 days from our receipt of the return. Refunds will be made to the original payment method wherever possible, or otherwise by bank transfer or store credit. If you prefer, we can issue a Cartridge People store credit for the refund amount, which you may use for future purchases (note: store credits are not redeemable for cash and may expire if not used within a certain time; see Section 7h for more detail).
- Cancelling Before Dispatch: If you wish to cancel your order before it has been dispatched, please contact us as soon as possible. If we manage to cancel prior to dispatch, you will receive a full refund including any delivery charges. If the order has already shipped, then the above returns process applies (you may refuse the delivery or mark it “Return to Sender,” but please inform us that you are doing so).
- Satisfaction Guarantee: We stand by the quality of our products. If you are not completely satisfied with a product, even if it’s outside our standard return period, please reach out to us. We may offer troubleshooting assistance, exchange, or credit on a case-by-case basis to ensure you are happy with your purchase. Our goal is 100% satisfaction, and we will work with you to resolve any issues with minimal hassle.
7. Warranty & Faulty Goods
- Standard Warranty: All products sold on our website (except printer hardware devices) come with at least a 1-year warranty against defects. This means if your ink, toner, or other consumable product is found to be faulty or not performing as expected within one year of purchase, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund at our discretion. This warranty is provided by us in addition to your statutory rights under consumer law (which may extend longer for inherently faulty goods).
- Cartridge People Own Brand – Extended Warranty: We provide an even longer warranty on our Cartridge People Own Brand printer consumables (excluding paper). These items come with a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase. All other Cartridge People Own Brand products (such as paper or other accessories, if any) carry the standard 1-year warranty.
- Lifetime Printer Guarantee: In addition, our Cartridge People Own Brand ink and toner
cartridges include a Lifetime Printer Guarantee. This means if one of our Own Brand cartridges causes damage to your printer, we will cover the cost of repair or replacement of your printer. (We may require documentation or an assessment of the cause of damage.) This guarantee applies as long as you are using the cartridge in the original printer for which it was intended, and the damage is directly attributable to the cartridge.
- Printer & Electrical Hardware: This covers printers and other electrical/electronic items sold by us (for example: shredders, laminators, scanners, label makers, coffee machines and similar devices).
- 30-Day DOA (Dead on Arrival): If your hardware develops a fault within 30 days of delivery:
- Contact us first. We’ll troubleshoot with you (many issues are setup or connection related). We may ask for the device serial number, error messages, photos or short video.
- If we cannot resolve the fault remotely, we’ll arrange a replacement or refund. For verified faults we’ll provide a prepaid return label and, where stock allows, send a like-for-like replacement promptly.
- If the exact model is discontinued or out of stock, we may offer an equivalent model meeting or exceeding your key specifications, or a refund.
- Contact us first. We’ll troubleshoot with you (many issues are setup or connection related). We may ask for the device serial number, error messages, photos or short video.
- After 30 days (manufacturer warranty route).
After the initial 30 days, the fastest fix is usually via the manufacturer’s warranty (typically 12 months; see the documentation in the box or the manufacturer’s website).
- Please contact the manufacturer directly for diagnosis, repair or replacement under the warranty. They can arrange engineer support, swap-outs or repair centres as applicable.
- We’ll still help with paperwork (e.g., proof of purchase, dates, model details) if you need it, but the remedy (repair/replacement) will be provided under the OEM’s warranty terms.
- Please contact the manufacturer directly for diagnosis, repair or replacement under the warranty. They can arrange engineer support, swap-outs or repair centres as applicable.
- 30-Day DOA (Dead on Arrival): If your hardware develops a fault within 30 days of delivery:
- What’s not covered: Warranty remedies do not cover: accidental damage, misuse or neglect, connectivity/network or driver issues not caused by the device, paper jams or media faults arising from incorrect paper/media use, fair wear and tear, unauthorised repairs or modifications, or consumable/maintenance parts (e.g., blades, filters, pads, printheads where classed as consumables) except for manufacturing defects.
- Before you return: Keep original packaging where possible and remove any stored data or network settings (e.g., address books, Wi-Fi credentials). We are not responsible for loss of data or settings during testing, repair or replacement (to the extent permitted by law).
- Business purchases: The 30-day DOA process above applies in the same way. After 30 days, remedies are via the manufacturer’s warranty and timeframes are subject to the OEM’s process. (See Section 9 for our liability limits.)This 30-day DOA policy and the manufacturer warranty route do not affect your statutory rights.
- Claims for Faulty Items: If any product you receive from us is damaged in transit or appears to be faulty, please inform us as soon as possible (ideally within a few days of receipt). For consumables, we may ask you to perform some troubleshooting steps (since installation issues or printer settings can sometimes cause what seems like a faulty cartridge). If the issue cannot be resolved, we will arrange for a return of the item at our expense and send a replacement, organise credit to be applied to your account or process a refund according to your preference. We will provide a prepaid returns label for faulty/damaged items where necessary, so you can return them at no cost to you. Please do not dispose of or return faulty items without contacting us first, as we need to authorise and track the return to properly credit you.
- Warranty Exclusions: Our warranties (including the Satisfaction Guarantee and Lifetime Printer Guarantee) do not cover problems that are caused by: misuse of the product, improper installation, use of an incorrect product for your device, neglect or physical damage, fair wear and tear, or failure to follow the product’s instructions or guidelines. For example, a cartridge that has been refilled or tampered with by you would not be covered, nor would a printer that was damaged by a leak due to improper handling of a cartridge. Additionally, warranties are non-transferable – they apply only to the original purchaser of the goods and the original equipment. Routine maintenance items (like maintenance kits, drums, fusers, etc., which have their own life expectancy) are only covered for defects and not for depletion of usable life.
- Remedies: If you make a valid warranty claim for a faulty product within the applicable warranty period, we will typically offer you the choice of a replacement (the same item or an equivalent alternative), a full refund, or an account credit. If a refund or replacement is issued, we may arrange to collect the faulty item from you or ask you to return it (at our cost). Any account credit issued is not redeemable for cash and will remain on your Cartridge People account for use on future purchases. (If you later close your account, any unused credit may be forfeited, so please use credits before closing your account.)
- Your Statutory Rights: The above guarantees and warranties are provided in addition to, and not in substitution for, your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable laws. Goods we sell must be as described, fit for purpose, and of satisfactory quality. If they are not, you are entitled to certain remedies by law. Nothing in these terms will affect those statutory rights.
8. Limitations of Use
- Personal Use Only: Products purchased from us are intended for personal use or internal business use only. You agree not to use products for any unlawful purpose or re-market, resell, or distribute our products for profit. We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel orders, or close accounts if we believe that a customer is purchasing for resale or non-personal use, as noted in Section 2.e.
- Intellectual Property: All content on our website (text, images, logos, graphics) is owned by or licensed to Cartridge People Ltd and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, or distribute any content from our site without our permission, except for your own personal, non-commercial use of our services.
- Website Availability: We aim to keep our website available and secure at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We will not be liable for any loss if the site is unavailable or slow to load. When using our site, ensure you have appropriate security and antivirus measures; we are not responsible for any technical issues or losses arising from viruses or malicious material that might infect your device via our site, provided we have taken reasonable care to prevent this.
- Third-Party Links: Our site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, manufacturer support pages or recycling information). These links are provided for convenience only; we have no control over third-party sites and accept no responsibility for their content or policies. Accessing those sites is at your own risk.
9. Liability and Force Majeure
- Limitation of Liability (Consumers): Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights (including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015). Products are supplied for domestic and private use. If you buy for any commercial, business or resale purpose, see Section 9 b. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits anything it would be unlawful to exclude or limit.
- Limitation of Liability (Business Customers): If you are a business customer (including business account holders), our liability is limited as follows. We shall not be liable to you for any loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss or damage, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise. In addition, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising under or in connection with the contract shall not exceed the amount you paid for the products in your order. You acknowledge that the prices of our products are based on this allocation of risk. This Section 9.b does not exclude any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
- Force Majeure – Events Outside Our Control: We will not be liable for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these terms if such failure or delay is caused by events outside our reasonable control. This includes, for example, acts of God, natural disasters, strikes or labour disputes, epidemics/pandemics, war, terrorist acts, government orders, supply or transport disruptions, power failures, or any other unforeseen event that renders performance impracticable. In such cases, we will do our best to inform you and to minimise any disruption. If an event outside our control significantly delays your order, we will work with you to arrange a solution (such as rescheduling delivery or issuing a refund for undelivered items).
- No Third-Party Liability: We only supply products for your use; except as expressly stated in these terms, we have no liability to any third party for any claims arising out of the purchase or use of our products. The contract of sale exists only between Cartridge People and the purchaser named on the order.
- Indemnity (Business use): If you are a business customer, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Cartridge People Ltd against any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your breach of these terms or misuse of products (this means you will reimburse us for any loss or damage we suffer as a result of your breach or misuse).
10. Data Protection & Privacy
- Use of Personal Data: We are committed to protecting your personal data and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Any personal information that we collect from you (whether during account registration, order placement, or otherwise) will be used and stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, use, share, and protect your information. By using our site or placing an order, you consent to such processing of your data.
- Communication & Marketing: We will use your contact details to communicate with you about your orders and any customer service matters. With your consent, we may also send you marketing communications (such as newsletters or special offers). You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by updating your account preferences. Please allow up to 7 days for unsubscribe requests to take effect. We will never sell or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. We may share information with third-party service providers only as needed to fulfil your orders or improve our services (for example, sharing your address with a courier to deliver your order), and always under strict data protection agreements.
- Security: We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure your personal information. Payment details are processed securely and we do not store full payment card information on our systems.
- Cookies: Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance user experience, analyse traffic, and for advertising purposes. Our Cookie policy, outlined in the Privacy Policy, explains what cookies we use and how you can manage your preferences.
- Data Subject Rights: You have rights regarding your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Details are provided in our Privacy Policy, and you can contact us at any time to exercise these rights.
11. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These terms and conditions, together with any documents expressly referred to within (such as our Returns Policy and Privacy Policy) and the order confirmation details, constitute the entire agreement between you and us relating to each purchase. They supersede any prior agreements or communications. No oral or written statement by any sales person or customer service agent can vary these terms or be relied upon as a legal representation regarding the goods. For example, any advice or product recommendation we provide is given in good faith but does not create a warranty beyond what is stated in these terms. All product names, brands, and trademarks shown on our website are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only to indicate compatibility; Cartridge People is not affiliated with or endorsed by those manufacturers.
- Variations: No change to these terms is valid unless agreed in writing by a Director of The Cartridge People Ltd. We may update or amend these terms from time to time. The version of terms in effect at the time of your order will govern that purchase. We will post any updated terms on our website with a revised effective date. It’s your responsibility to review the terms periodically for changes, especially before making a purchase. If you do not agree to any updated terms, you should stop using the website.
- Severability: If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision shall be deemed removed (or narrowed to the extent required) and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. In other words, if one part of these terms is invalid, the rest remains valid.
- Transfer of Rights: The contract between us is personal to you. You may not assign or transfer any of your rights or obligations under these terms to anyone else without our prior written consent. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation, for example if our business is sold or merged, but we will notify you in such an event and ensure that this does not affect your rights under the contract.
- No Waiver: If we do not insist immediately that you do something you are required to do under these terms, or if we delay in taking action against you for a breach of contract, that will not mean we have waived our rights or that you no longer need to comply. For example, if you miss a payment and we do not chase you but we continue to fulfil your orders, we can still require you to make the payment at a later date. Any waiver of rights by us will be confirmed by us in writing to be effective.
- Customer Service: We pride ourselves on our customer service. If you have any questions, concerns, or complaints about your order or these terms, please contact our Customer Service team. You can reach us by email at customerservice@cartridgepeople.com or by phone on 0203 001 0234 (Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm). We will do our best to resolve any issues quickly and amicably. - WEEE Recycling: If your purchase includes electrical or electronic equipment (e.g. printers), we comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations. We offer free recycling on a like-for-like basis for old electronics. For example, if you buy a new printer from us, you can return your old printer for proper recycling. Please contact our Customer Service to arrange a recycling label or envelope for returning old ink cartridges, toners, or printers. Electrical items should not be disposed of with regular household waste – look for the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol and recycle appropriately. For more information on recycling, visit Recycle Now. This service is part of our commitment to environmental responsibility.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These terms and any contracts for purchase of goods through our site are governed by the law of England and Wales (or Scots law if you reside in Scotland for certain consumer rights). This means that the interpretation of these terms and any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) will be governed by English law.
If you are a business customer, you and we both agree that the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes or claims (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these terms or their subject matter. If you are a consumer, you and we agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, provided that this does not deprive you of any legal rights you have to bring a claim in the courts of another part of the UK in which you reside (such as Scotland or Northern Ireland). Disputes will be conducted in English.
In plain terms, we hope to resolve any issue by talking with you first – so please contact us if you have any problems and we will endeavour to help. These terms are designed to be fair and protect both of us. Thank you for shopping with Cartridge People.
